Apply for Section 64 developer contribution charges

Under Section 64 of the Local Government Act 1993 and Sections 305 to 307 of the Water Management Act 2000, developer contributions may be applicable where a development imposes on the water supply and sewerage system.

Your water development notice will indicate an approximate charge based on the fees set during the financial year the water development notice was prepared. The applicant is required to request an invoice for contribution charges applicable to the current financial year charges.

Developer contributions must be paid as specified in your water development notice and may be requested:

• Prior to issue of a construction certificate;
• Prior to release of subdivision plan; or
• At the time of granting development consent
