Apply for a water restriction permit

There are currently no water restrictions in place. Permits are only applicable during water restrictions.

During water restrictions we must all work together to help conserve our drinking water supply. To help out, we have developed a range of suitable practices allowing you to still use water for non-essential activities outside of the home.

Please note: Washing down hard surfaces such as pathways, driveways, houses, and windows is not permitted and a request to clean hard surfaces purely for appearance will be declined.

Steps to apply

Before you start

Check if you need a permit

Depending on your needs, you may not need a permit.

The conditions listed below explain how water can be used during water restrictions without the need for a permit.

Under our level one water restrictions, you can:

  • Water the garden or lawn with a hand-held hose (trigger nozzles are encouraged)
  • Water the lawn or garden using a sprinkler or drip irrigation (device must be fixed to a timer)
  • Wash your vehicle or boat using a hand-held hose (trigger nozzles on hoses are encouraged and parked on grass where possible)
  • Top up your swimming pool or spa (hose must be fixed to a timer)

Trigger nozzles on hoses and timers on sprinklers help prevent unnecessary water wastage.

How to apply

Submit our online permit request form

Please note: Submitting a permit request does not guarantee approval and that washing down hard surfaces such as pathways, driveways, houses, and windows is not permitted.

There are no water restrictions in place at this time. A permit form will be made available here when water restrictions are in place.
