If you’ve paid a plumber to fix a sewer problem and it turned out to be within Council’s sewer main, you may be eligible for reimbursement of reasonable costs.
Shoalhaven Water are available 24/7 to attend any sewer blockages and should be called in the first instance.
If a plumber has investigated the issue and it was determined that the blockage was in Council's mains, and Council was advised immediately you may be eligible for a plumber's reimbursement.
Reasonable reimbursements are expected to be between $200 - $300 including GST.
Please note: Shoalhaven Water will not reimburse for plumbing work on your property's internal plumbing services.
Eligibility
A reimbursement will only be considered if:
- Shoalhaven Water was notified and attended the site to clear the blockage in Council's mains,
- The plumber's invoice provides details of the work carried out, and
- The plumber's invoice has been paid in full.
