We manage a number of telecommunication tower sites on behalf of Shoalhaven City Council providing radio communication links and services to a variety of users, including:

  • Telecommunication carriers
  • Radio broadcasters
  • TV broadcasters
  • Emergency services
  • Council communications
  • Shoalhaven Water
  • State Government departments
  • Internet service providers
  • Network connectivity providers

In addition, we also operate a number of separate sites ranging from large high coverage telecommunication towers, smaller coverage area towers, to rooftop and water reservoir facilities.

Follow the steps below to find out what you need to gain access to one of our sites and how to apply for a permit.

Site access requirements

Before you can enter one of our sites to undertake repairs, additions, or modifications, a valid permit must be issued by Shoalhaven City Council.

Permits must be applied for in advance and take 3 working days to be issued.

For emergency works, complete the permit application and contact us on (02) 4429 3214.

How to apply for a permit

Step one:

When you apply for a permit, you will be asked to provide the following documents in pdf format:

  • Insurance documentation – certificate of currency of insurance public liability
  • Details of approved works
  • SWMS
  • Site induction certificates required for each person attending site

Current legal agreement for use of site / tower

  • Approval from site licensee to work under a valid, current site agreement and/or
  • Approval from Shoalhaven City Council to work on site

Step two:

When you are ready, submit our online application. Have your documentation ready to upload.

The link below will take you to Council’s online request management platform where you can attach any required documentation.

What happens next

Approved permits will be emailed to the applicant within 3 working days from date of submission.

  • Permits must be produced on request and cover all persons on site.
  • Terms and conditions will be listed on the permit.
