How to obtain approval to discharge
To make application for approval to discharge liquid trade waste to sewer, you must follow this process:
1. Submit our business activity form
Submitting our business activity form will help us determine the correct requirements for your business activity and what you need for approval. We will respond with an application requesting more detailed information. This must be completed to commence the approval process.
2. Apply for Approval
The form we send you must be completed as part of the approval process. You may be required to provide additional documentation such as hydraulic plans and pre-treatment specifications. These can be uploaded in the application in PDF or JPG format.
This part of the process will help ensure we can continue to protect our sewerage network.
If you are leasing a property to conduct your business, you must obtain the property owners consent prior to submitting the application. There is a dedicated section for this within the application.
Please be advised that an application cannot proceed without the consent of the property owner.
3. Application Fee
An application fee will be invoiced to the applicant based on the activities involved and their discharger category. The fee covers the review and assessment of the application and may include an initial site inspection. This fee must be paid prior to issue of approval.
4. Issue of Approval
On receipt of your application, we will review the details. If it meets the requirements and the application fee has been paid, we will issue an Approval to Discharge Liquid Trade Waste into Council’s sewerage system.
Why do I need approval?
