Apply to relocate, lower or raise a water meter

Building works or renovations can sometimes leave your meter in an inconvenient position and it may need to be adjusted.

For a set fee, meters up to 50mm have the following options:

  • Relocate water meter
  • Raise water meter
  • Lower water meter into a pit – plastic or metal lid (depending on traffic flow)

Meters greater than 50mm will be quoted.

Steps to apply

Click on the tabs below to find out what you need, and how to apply to have a meter relocated, raised or lowered.

Before you start

Have your documentation ready to upload

To complete your application, you will need:

  • The existing meter number

For meter relocations you will also require:

  • A service location plan indicating where the existing meter is and where you want the meter relocated to
  • The distance from the existing meter location to the new proposed meter location

What is a service location plan?

A service location plan is a simple diagram that provides us the information we require to relocate your meter to the position you want. Your nominated location must remain positioned along the front boundary.

  2. Calculate costs of meter adjustment
  3. Issue a payment advice (invoice)

On receipt of payment, we will schedule the relocation of the meter in accordance with the service location plan you provided. You must ensure the site has 24/7 access and a two (2) metre square clearance where the relocation is to occur.
