Rainwater tank rebate program

| Your roof is an important water catchment area |
One of the Shoalhaven’s most important water catchment areas is just above your head! During a heavy rain storm hundreds of litres of water can drain off an average roof. By installing a rainwater tank you can capture and store this precious resource to help take the strain off our town water and save money on your water accounts.
Council at its meeting of 10th March 2009 changed the rebate scheme and for rainwater tanks purchased after 13 th March 2009 a flat rebate of $150 will be available under the current terms and conditions of the scheme.
In addition, the Federal Government has recently announced its own rebate scheme for rainwater tanks or greywater systems which adds to the amount you can claim. To be eligible under the National Scheme a tank must be connected for internal water use. More information on the National Scheme can be found at www.environment.gov.au/water or direct on 1800 218 478.
