Rebate programs
Washing Machine rebates
A rebate of $150 is available to customers who purchase a new washing machine with at least a 4-star*water efficiency rating*. Machines with the old 5 ‘A’ water rating are eligible under this scheme. The rebate offer commenced on 26 June, 2008.
4-star* water efficient washing machines save more than 21,000 litres of water a year compared to older machines. This rebate offer will result a considerable saving in water consumed.
Eligible washing machines are clearly labelled and rebate application forms are available. A list of machines can be obtained from the energy rating website. A link to this site is available in the links pages of our website.
Please note that the rebate is for washing machines with at least a 4-star* water efficiency rating or 5 ‘A’. This rebate does not apply to 4-star* energy ratings.
* The Australian Government, in collaboration with State and Territory governments, has introduced a Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards (WELS) Scheme, which applies national mandatory water efficiency labelling and minimum performance standards to household water – using products.
The NSW Government has established a Washing Machine Rebate through the NSW Climate Change Fund. The rebate will be available from August 1, 2008 and it will provide $150 cashback on any 4.5 star rated washing machine purchased for a residential property in NSW.
The terms and conditions of this rebate can be obtained direct from the NSW Government Department of Environment and Climate Change on 1300 361 967 or via their website. It should be noted that the NSW Government Rebate only applies on 4.5 star rated washing machines whereas the Shoalhaven Water Rebate will be provided on 4 star rated machines. http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/rebates/ccfwmr.htm
Rainwater tank rebate program

| Your roof is an important water catchment area |
One of the Shoalhaven’s most important water catchment areas is just above your head! During a heavy rain storm hundreds of litres of water can drain off an average roof. By installing a rainwater tank you can capture and store this precious resource to help take the strain off our town water and save money on your water accounts.
In 2005 Shoalhaven Water introduced a rainwater tank rebate scheme to help you do this. You can claim up to $500 off the cost of a rainwater tank plus an additional rebate if you get a licensed plumber to connect your tank to supply your toilet or washing machine (terms and conditions apply).
In addition, the NSW Government has recently announced it’s own rebate scheme, which doubles the amount you can claim.

This is one of the many ways Shoalhaven Water is working with you to create sensible solutions for people and the environment to ensure that clean, fresh drinking water doesn’t become a luxury item.
